About The Band

Dave Diprose and Hillbilly Radio perform traditional  and original material with the sounds of bluegrass, old-timey and country-swing. Over the past two years they have been winning fans in bluegrass and folk circles with their fine musicianship, a deep respect for the traditions, and humorous and heartfelt presentation.

A standout of the band's performance is Dave's original songs, which have won over traditionalists and newcomers alike with uniquely Australian stories of rural communities, drought and heartbreak, long distance relationships, miners and railway men, and domestic humour.

The band has performed at numerous festivals including: Kelly Country Pick; Great Alpine Pick (GAP); The Basin Music Festival; Foggy Mountain Bluegrass Festival; as well as being the feature act at Mountain Pickers club nights, folk clubs and other showcase events. The lineup features: Dave Diprose - acoustic guitar & vocals; Greg Hunt - fiddle/mandolin; Peter Howell – bass; Guest – dobro and/or mandolin (at times Pete Fidler, Mark Pottenger, Ian Vaskess, Trev Warner [Fiddle]).
