Melbourne's Dave Diprose has spent over 40 years honing his skills as a songwriter, story-teller and formidable guitarist. With a deep respect for the traditions, Dave has etched his place into the local acoustic music scene with a humorous and heartfelt presentation and old-fashioned storytelling. "Dave's storytelling adds to the appeal of his songs". Billy Pinnell (Australian Music Guru).

Dave's songwriting is what sets him apart. His inciteful stories of Australian experiences, laced with humour and bound by strong and memorable melodies provides for a compelling performance. "Dave stands out from the pack by finding the right balance. He creates freely while remaining true to his sources." Matthew Fredericks (Melbourne PBS FM). He blends his original material with well-chosen standards for a performance that pleases both traditional and contemporary audiences alike.

Dave is one of a handful of people anywhere to have mastered the Robert Johnson solo blues guitar style and is a proficient bluegrass flatpick guitarist.  "One of the most authentic blues artists in the country. A fantastic blend of tradition with an Australian edge". Lloyd Spiegel (Premier Endorsee Cole Clark Guitars).

Dave performs both solo and in ensemble arrangements. With Hillbilly Radio he blends the sounds of Bluegrass, Old-timey and Country-swing with his fine originals. The band features stellar musicians on Fiddle, Dobro, Mandolin and Bass. Performing classic Blues on slide guitar, at times Dave will include Bass & Drums for a bit of added punch.

A performer with decades of experience to boast, Dave is a true professional who has performed with and supported a host of international acts, and has appeared at numerous festivals. Those lucky enough to catch him in full flight at festivals such as Cygnet Folk Festival (Tas), the Australian Blues Festival (Goulburn NSW), or Broadbeach (Qld) will agree that he is a powerful performer and storyteller who is one of the outstanding blues and bluegrass artists in the country.
